The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has developed an e-portal for the welfare and convenience of patients, through that people will be getting easy access to make their OPD (Outpatients Departments) bookings, collecting laboratory reports and also confirming availability of blood. The ORS (Online Registration System) portal will link patients with various government hospitals using their Aadhaar number. The system will retrieve their eKYC data through their Aadhaar number.
The joint efforts of Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) and National Informatics Centre (NIC) have put this planning into action and digitized the counter-based OPD registration process.
Aadhaar number based ORS will link various government hospitals, currently it connects 63 government hospitals around the country which enables patients to fix their OPD appointment just by entering their Aadhaar number at http://ors.gov.in and followed by few further steps:
Getting OPD Appointment Becomes Easier
First give a click to this url http://ors.gov.in, you will find this screen.
Enter your Aadhaar number in the given space, Click submit. Once you submit your Aadhaar number, It will show you following screen.
You need to fill up the above online registration form, providing all necessary information. After going through this step, click ‘proceed’ to find next screen given below.
Now select the desired date for which you want to fix your appointment. In case while choosing your appointment date, you want to change your department then you can simply do it by clicking on ‘Change Department’ tab. The days for which, there is availability, shown by green colour, there is no availability is indicated by orange colour and holidays have been shown with yellow colour.
This portal is available in two languages English and Hindi, hence maximum people can access it and take advantage of it.
Once you are registered with ORS, Hospital Registration Number will be provided on registered mobile number to make further appointments in future and also let you check the status of your appointment. If your Aadhaar number is already registered with the portal and having UHID (Unique Health Identification Number), then appointment number will be provided and UHID number will remain same.
Collect Your Lab Reports Online
Laboratory reports can be viewed with detailed information after selecting hospital and putting your Hospital Registration Number.

Know About Blood Availability
How easy it has become with ORS to know about blood availability at various reputed hospitals in the country. It has an option to select the state in which you want to confirm availability of blood for e.g. Chandigarh. It will show you blood groups with the quantity available for them along with date and time of availability.
You can view Blood Bank Name and get contact details by clicking on view tab given below the contact. See how it appears on the screen.
You can contact the hospital to get required blood in adequate quantity.
From the dashboard, your can access the complete list of registered hospitals. It will brief you about number of departments available, the count of appointments taken today and also let you know total number of online appointments made till date on the portal.
It will provide you comprehensive data about the current appointment statistics and appointment made in last 20 days.
